活在当下
Last friday night, I have met with an old time friend. Despite it has been a while since we last met, however we still connect. I am glad the time that had passed didn’t change our friendship for so many years. From the conversation with her, I see this 豁达 in her. Then again, understanding further, I realise she may have seen something that I don’t. She is living in the present, not the past nor the future. It doesn’t mean she don’t plan for her future, she does but also understand that a part of life that might be unpredictable and we have to come to terms with it.
People have asked what is my achievement in this 30 odd years of life. Much as I will like to say I have a next generation to bring up with and a legacy to leave behind but it didn’t so what’s else? I am glad that despite the short years that I have till now, I met and know some good and amazing friends in my life. People that I can call in the middle of the night. People that I can go lunch with and also people that I can spend time alone with and be myself. There are also people that I can feel safe and hop right into their car or to spend the night in their house without worrying. It is not something that I can do so easily as I always prefer to go back home after a long day outside instead of going to someone’s house.
Lastly, all I can say is “Thank You” for this friend of mine and I guess I just have to try harder to manage it better.
