Sowers of Faith (SOF)
This is the name of my Carecell group – Sowers of Faith (SOF) at North District @ Paya Lebar (PL).
Hebrews 11:1-2
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
It symbolizes that we as Christians need to keep taking steps of faith to allow God’s promises to be fulfilled, just like a farmer needs to keep sowing seeds and watering them to see a harvest. Easier said than done, I think it applies to other aspect of our lives too. Just how much faith do we have in the things that we believe in and taking action to ensure that faith?

Save pre-believers by loving them and sharing Jesus with them.
Obey Jesus by following His examples and commands.
Fan our spiritual hunger for Jesus.

From Jesus’ model in Luke 10:1-11, it involves a process to save a pre-believer.
1. Be a blessing to someone (verse 5).
2. Build a relationship with her/him (verse 7).
3. Meet her/his practical needs (verse 9).
4. Tell her/him about Jesus (verse 9).
It’s not just about (4), but very importantly (1) to (3) also.
Obey
From Matthew 28:18-20, there are 3 things we can do to follow Jesus.
1. Make disciples (verse 19). E.g. be a Spiritual Parent to another Christian.
2. Be baptized (verse 19).
3. Learn and obey what Jesus tells us through the Bible (verse 20).
E.g. through Jesus’ first sermon in Matthew 5-7, New Beginnings (NB), Leaders’ Empowerment and Discipleship (LEAD) class “Let your Bible come alive!”

3 ways we can fan our spiritual hunger for Jesus.
1. Seek Him through prayer.
2. Seek Him through reading the Bible.
3. Seek Him through singing worship songs.
As we seek, we can tell Jesus “I want more of Your presence in my life. I want to know Him more. I want to put You first, in the center”. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:13 that “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”.
