《传承》 For Generations To Come

 In Christianity, Love & Family

My mum and I watched the chinese christmas presentation in my church yesterday. It was very touching, the story spoke of a typical family where the father slogged hard for his work but missed out on family bonding. As time passed, his children drew away from him. He thought he can leave a legacy behind by showing his family the great achievements that he had in his career only to realise, the buildings that he had design and built are making ways for new ones. So what can he leave behind for generations to come?

It strike a chord with me as the characters portrayed inside reminded me of some people that I knew. We are always busy citing the reason is to earn a better living for our family only to realise what they wanted is the quality time spent with us and not gifts that we bought. I remember the saying, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”. How easily said than done. Now being a young parent, I too wanted to leave a legacy behind for my child but am I passing down the right way for generations to come? 传承, an interesting musical drama to watch and to think over it…
